PERFECT FOR A MILD FALL DAY

i LOVE THIS LOOK put together by Nika at Fashion Agony.  Check out her blog for more great outfits.

IRISH COFFEE AT THE BUENA VISTA

Its 3 pm and the fog is billowing in, and a creamy boozy Irish coffee at the Buena Vista in San Francisco is the way I end my afternoon, meeting a friend and getting out of the wind.  Its not just for tourists.  Here is what I'm wearing:

Green alpaca sweater.  Antique jade earrings.  Brown jeans and platform sandals.  Sugarmaple lipstick from Estee Lauder.  A green paisley pashmina.  Caramel silk satin chemise.  Vintage Longines watch.

DRESSING FOR AN AUTUMN LUNCH IN ROME

The air and crisp and sunny, its Sunday and the Rome traffic is tamped down enough to stroll and talk comfortably without being run down by a cigarette smoking, texting, mad scooter rider… We are on the way to a leisurely lunch of wild mushroom ravioli, grilled sole, and a light Chianti classico, with an espresso to finish. Here is what I am wearing.

TALE OF TWO LOOKS

Actually, it could be four looks since I'm wearing this feather weight top from ANGL backwards.   The front is a simple scoop neck which is also great but I think the split drapey look is more interesting.  Its layered over a simple stretch ballet top from Old Navy.

First look is casual; second is more the 'femme of a certain age' look with the scarf to cover my neck, and a chignon.  I like both... what do you think?

LOVE AND BOOTS

Surely I am not the only person who thinks prim lace up boots are sexy.  Well, certainly hard to get!

Not caring to look like a rain soaked flannel shirted slacker wannabe, I have zero interest in the flat, humptoed offerings that have been the only laceup versions (in my price range) for a sad while.

But the mad rush of bootie love has brought some pretty cute choices.  Here's my latest find:

GIANI BERNINI 'OLOT' BOOTIES

These pretties are also super comfy.
